CFL Launches 2026 “Civilization Action Month” to Promote Respect Across Chinese Professional Leagues

The Chinese Professional Football Leagues have scheduled the 2026 season’s “Civilization Action Month” to run from October 9 to November 8 across all match divisions and professional clubs.

Civilization Action Month Launches with Focus on Respect

Operating under the annual theme of “Respect” and the unified slogan “Together We Take the Field, Shared Respect,” the initiative encompasses all league personnel and spectators. The program aims to deepen professional conduct within Chinese football, promoting civil participation, viewing, and employment to cultivate a healthy tournament culture as the leagues enter their final stages.

Following a first edition held in 2025, the 2026 campaign expands its working mainstays: inspiring civil matchday concepts, practicing civil matchday actions, and communicating civil matchday stories. The initiative seeks to enforce five core tenets—respecting rules, respecting opponents, respecting referees, respecting fans, and respecting oneself—acting as behavioral guidelines across six tiers of professional football, including the Chinese Super League, China League One, and China League Two.

Organizers Plan Coordinated Events to Promote Respect

Organizers will implement coordinated on-site and digital events throughout the month-long schedule. Fixtures played during the campaign will feature pre-match national anthem ceremonies involving players, substitutes, coaching staff, ball kids, and spectators to reinforce matchday responsibility and honor. Team captains will also lead joint initiatives to solidify sportsmanship standards on and off the pitch.

Official promotional videos focused on respect will broadcast across stadium screens and digital channels. In addition, tournament officials plan to expand the “Ten-Hundred-Thousand” model by highlighting exemplary fan supporter groups, collecting short videos on sportsmanship, and recognizing dedicated stadium guides and courteous supporters. The program also introduces an “Away Match Courtesy” drive to encourage friendly interactions between home and visiting fan bases.

League Organizers Outline Broad Participation

League organizers stated that the campaign relies on unified planning by the governing body, local execution by clubs, and broad societal involvement to transition educational concepts into active habits for participants and spectators. The initiative is designed to anchor professional standards during the closing stretches of the competitive calendar.
