Carolina Marín Opens the Guest Speaker Series on October 19
Olympic gold medalist and world badminton champion Carolina Marín will kick off the headline speaking circuit on October 19. Marín’s presentation at the Auditorio Insular de Fuerteventura will focus heavily on personal improvement, discipline, and mental toughness. Following her appearance, philosopher and educator David Pastor Vico takes the stage on November 11 to discuss the decline of unstructured play, the weakening of community ties, and how heavy screen usage impacts physical development.

Pedro Piqueras and Andrea Fernández Address Screen Time
On November 23, journalist Pedro Piqueras and psychologist Andrea Fernández will host a joint conference session at the Auditorio Insular. Their dialogue will center on digital screen consumption among youth, offering strategies to protect learning routines, healthy sleep patterns, and interpersonal relationships. School centers interested in attending these sessions can register via the official form provided by the Cabildo.
Cabildo Educa Offers Radio Encounters and Emotional Well-Being Sessions
Beyond the headline conferences, the ‘Cabildo Educa’ catalog features more than twenty distinct actions. November will host a School Radio Encounter at the Centro Insular de Juventud, with registration currently open for participating schools. The calendar also schedules ‘Emocuidando’ sessions focused on emotional well-being, alongside media literacy workshops aimed at teaching students, educators, and families how to critically analyze information received through modern media channels.
Collaborative Workshops Across Island Institutions
The broader initiative incorporates projects developed alongside other departments within the island government. These span environmental and cultural programs like ‘Semana Azul’ and ‘No Olvides Lo Nuestro’, technology and gaming projects including ‘PequecityLab’, ‘Proyecto Calimbre’, ‘FuerteventurIA’, and ‘Gaming Educativo’, as well as literacy drives like ‘Isla de Cuentos’. Students can also participate in interactive activities such as the ‘El Enigma de Unamuno’ escape room, ‘Aprender Jugando’, ‘Conocer para Proteger’, ‘Paisajes con Historia’, and ‘Arqueólogos por un Día’.
