A young athlete from Salvador is among the 78 players selected for the Brazilian Under-15 flag football training camp in São Paulo, Acorda Cidade reported. Paulo Henrique Cordeiro Cordeiro, representing Cavalaria 2 de Julho in Salvador, earned a spot in the preliminary evaluation squad announced by the Confederação Brasileira de Futebol Americano e Flag Football.
The Selection Process at CERET
The training camp takes place at the Centro Esportivo, Recreativo e Educativo do Trabalhador, known as CERET, located in the Tatuapé district of São Paulo. The sessions run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time. The initial roster comprises 30 girls and 48 boys gathered from across nine Brazilian states alongside one athlete based in Panama. Female participants account for approximately 38.5 percent of the group, while male participants represent 61.5 percent.
Tribais, based in São José dos Campos, leads all participating clubs with 13 selected players. 4FUN of Santos, Corinthians Steamrollers, and First Down of São Paulo follow with eight representatives each. Braves Academy of Sorocaba contributes six athletes, while Sentimento Lions of Manaus and SOS Reviver of Nova Iguaçu each have four players involved. Caniballs of São Paulo, T-Rex of Timbó, Touchdown do Bem of Belo Horizonte, and Vasco Almirantes of Rio de Janeiro each add three players to the roster.
Additionally, Calvary Cavaliers of Curitiba, Esporte em Ação of Brasília, and Instituto Vale em Movimento of the Itajaí Valley account for two representatives each. Black Eagles / Spartans / Seleção Kiwanis of Panama, Capital Football Academy of Brasília, Cavalaria 2 de Julho of Salvador, Educando Pelo Esporte e Caipiras of Piracicaba, Locomotiva of Belo Horizonte, Mandaguari Blitz of Mandaguari, Recanto Lions of Manaus, Soldiers & AEVA of Manaus, and Ximangos of Carlos Barbosa complete the list with one athlete selected each.
The Path to the Final Roster
The current gathering does not constitute the final national team roster. Coaching staff members will continue tracking player performances during the Brazilian Flag Football Youth Championship scheduled for November, followed by a second evaluation camp in 2027 before the definitive squad is chosen.

Rakel Barros, vice-president of the CBFA, stated that the training camp forms part of a development initiative launched in June 2025 aimed at strengthening both the women’s and men’s youth national programs. According to the federation, the camps are designed to introduce young players to national team routines and multi-club environments ahead of international competition.
