Former professional basketball standout Bob Morse has launched “Basket Nba Dream Tour,” a travel initiative designed to bring Italian fans to the United States while guiding American tourists through cultural and sporting landmarks in Italy, according to reports. The project pairs American basketball games and historic itineraries with curated small-group travel led by sports figures and journalists.
Building Travel Itineraries Across Two Continents
Morse, who starred on the basketball court during the 1970s and currently resides in Portland, Oregon, developed the project alongside journalist Benedetta Lodolini. The initiative establishes a two-way cultural exchange centered on the sport. While the primary tour brings Italian enthusiasts to American cities, Morse also leads American travelers on immersive trips through Italy, focusing on destinations such as Tuscany and upcoming Euroleague and Italian soccer fixtures scheduled for the spring of 2027. He has learned the Italian language to the extent that he teaches it in United States universities, and Varese has named him an honorary citizen. Describing the philosophy behind the project, Morse stated, La pallacanestro è un patrimonio fatto di cultura, emozioni e memoria condivisa
, adding that the venture aims to guide enthusiasts and cultural observers toward discovering authentic American culture by uniting the sport with historical and traditional pathways for a special and exclusive journey.
The venture relies on exclusivity, utilizing small group sizes, two-city itineraries, and expert guides for each route, as detailed by Lodolini. Tour leaders consist of former players, sports executives, and prominent journalists.
Basket Nba Dream Tour Visits New York and Philadelphia
The inaugural Basket Nba Dream Tour begins on November 9 in New York, where participants will travel to see the defending champion New York Knicks play the Cleveland Cavs at Madison Square Garden on November 11. Following the New York leg, the group will travel to Philadelphia—Morse’s hometown—for a guided tour of American historical landmarks, followed by a matchup featuring LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers against Kawhi Leonard and the Toronto Raptors.
Further tour inquiries and registration details are managed through the project’s official contact channel at [email protected].
