Bisbal Bàsquet returns to Pavelló Vell to host Sant Antoni
Bisbal Bàsquet will play its first home match in a month at the Pavelló Vell this Saturday at 18:10 local time (17:10 UTC), facing Lamin Dibba’s Sant Antoni side. Head coach Èric Surís confirmed that while the venue is not yet completely finished to the club’s exact standards, the team has regained access to its home court after spending the past month training in alternative facilities and playing home fixtures away from Girona.
Squad returns home to reunite with fans
“The feelings are of great excitement to return home,” Surís said regarding the venue transition. “While everything is not yet at perfection or how we would want it, it is a good transition to start training on our court and so that, little by little, we can have the rest of the accessories that our pavilion allows us. But on a psychological and sentimental level, we recover the house and we will reunite with our fans.” The squad spent four weeks displaced before securing the partial return to the facility.
Preparing for the league favorite
The fixture brings an immediate test against one of the top contenders in the competition. Surís pointed to the visiting roster as the primary benchmark in the group. “Last year it was already one of the big teams in the competition and it is again,” Surís stated. “Surely, we are facing the maximum favorite of our group to win the regular league. We must be prepared for the maximum level, to compete and to make ourselves strong.” The coach added that the team views the fixture almost as the start of a second preseason as they adjust back to their home environment.
