BEAMS SPORT Opens New Concept Store in Meiji Park Featuring Global Running Brands and Vintage Apparel

Beams Sport Opens Standalone Tokyo Store at Meiji Park

Runners, basketball players, and culture enthusiasts now have a dedicated home inside Tokyo’s Meiji Park. Beams Sport has launched its first standalone retail location adjacent to the Parklet Meiji Park cafe, anchoring the space as a community hub that introduces several international performance brands making their debut in Japan.

Flexible Store Design Built for Community Gatherings

The new storefront opened as an integrated extension of the existing Meiji Park cafe space, according to retail plans outlined by the brand. Beams Sport chose the Tokyo location due to its proximity to running routes and the National Stadium, positioning the shop to serve athletes and spectators before and after major sporting events.

Store designers installed movable fixtures featuring wheels to clear the floor easily, allowing the retail floor to transform into an event venue for community gatherings and running club meetups.

Meiji Park Shop Stocks Technical Wear and New Brands

Performance running, trail running, and basketball form the primary product categories at the Meiji Park shop. The inventory features technical wear alongside three independent running brands making their initial launch in the Japanese market: R.A.D Running from the United Kingdom, Alex Zono from South Africa, and Wild Tee from Milan, Italy. For the basketball sector, the store stocks collaborative capsules created alongside Winiche & Co. and the basketball apparel brand Akter.

Store Offers Vintage Athletic Wear and Exclusive Souvenirs

Capitalizing on the growing popularity of vintage athletic style across North America and Europe, the Meiji Park location includes a dedicated section of secondhand garments. Shoppers can browse vintage running T-shirts, classic basketball uniforms, and graphic tees referencing global competitions such as the Olympic Games and international triathlon events.

In addition to vintage stock, the store offers exclusive Beams Sport-branded souvenir items, including logo T-shirts, sweatpants, and athletic socks.

Beams Sport Plans Sports Programming and Race Partnerships

Store leadership intends to use the adjacent cafe space to host regular sports-focused programming and brand collaborations. Beams Sport operated a basketball pop-up project called Hoopvan during the Wellness Park Tokyo event series at Meiji Park, featuring shooting challenges and exclusive merchandise sales. The brand will also provide custom printing services for New Balance T-shirts during the Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon.
