AS Charmilles Defeats FC Esperanza ZH 10-8 in Thriller

AS Charmilles fended off a furious second-half comeback to defeat FC Esperanza ZH 10–8 on Sunday at the Centre sportif du Bout-du-Monde during the fifth matchday of the Swiss Futsal Premier League, according to league match reports. The Geneva side built a commanding 8–2 lead by halftime, powered heavily by a four-goal first half from Mohamadou Tamanaté, before withstanding a six-goal individual performance from Zurich’s Ayoub Tounzi Eben Rakkouch.

Early Goals Set a Fast Pace in Geneva

Despite playing away, the visitors opened the scoring early in the contest. Following a free-kick that the Geneva defense initially blocked, Zurich recovered possession and Ayoub Tounzi Eben Rakkouch struck into the near post in the 5th minute to break the deadlock. The lead lasted barely a minute. In the 6th minute, Charmilles striker Mohamadou Tamanaté collected a long ball, fought off his marker, and slipped a precise shot between the goalkeeper’s legs to equalize. Two minutes later, a shot from the baseline by Anthony Gabriel Osorio Giraldo deflected off a defender into his own net, handing the hosts a 2–1 advantage.

Charmilles Builds a Commanding Halftime Lead

Geneva seized control of the first half through quick combinations and relentless finishing. Following a sharp 3–1 passing sequence in the 14th minute, Tamanaté received a through ball on the right flank; his initial shot struck the post, but he reacted quickest to bundle the rebound inside the near post. Emmanuel Saldanha and Imran Benamar added goals in the very same minute to widen the gap. Tamanaté struck again in the 16th and 19th minutes, while Nadhir Bacar chipped in with a 17th-minute strike. Although Tounzi Eben Rakkouch managed a second goal for Zurich in the 19th minute, Esperanza entered the locker room facing an imposing six-goal deficit at 8–2.

Esperanza Charges Back After the Break

Zurich sparked an intense recovery effort immediately after the interval. Tounzi Eben Rakkouch completed his hat-trick in the 22nd minute. Even though Saldanha answered with a quick double to push Geneva ahead 9–3 in the 26th minute, Esperanza refused to fold. Jose Antonio Alhama Marmol netted twice in the 30th and 33rd minutes. Tounzi Eben Rakkouch then ignited a late-game surge by scoring in the 36th, 38th, and 39th minutes, bringing his personal match tally to six goals. However, the deficit proved too steep to overcome. Sofiane Amraoui netted Geneva’s crucial tenth goal in the 38th minute, ensuring Charmilles preserved a two-goal cushion until the final whistle.
