The baseball calendar in Regensburg stretches deep into the autumn months as the Armin-Wolf-Arena prepares to host a crossover between baseball and slowpitch softball. Alongside the anniversary tournament events in Bavaria, national team commitments and youth championship fixtures maintain a packed schedule across German ballparks.
Armin-Wolf-Arena Hosts Slowpitch and Baseball Allstar Showcase
Marking the tenth anniversary of the European Slowpitch Softball Championships in Regensburg, Thursday’s schedule at the Armin-Wolf-Baseball-Arena features a pair of exhibition allstar games designed to bridge the gap between baseball and slowpitch disciplines. The marquee men’s fixture at 20:00 local time pits a German Baseball League selection—led by head coach Matt Vance and featuring several players from the Guggenberger Legionäre—against the 360 Men’s Allstar Team.
Organizers structured the exhibition to reflect a growing overlap in the two diamond sports, noting that numerous active and former baseball players now compete in slowpitch events such as the Global Games in Barcelona and the European championships in Regensburg. The action begins at 19:00 with the women’s showcase, where the 360 Women’s Team faces a World Women Team featuring a dedicated Regensburg block comprising Michaela Knorová, Carina Dirscherl, Susanne Korbely, and Jacqueline Eiting.
The wider tournament brings 52 European teams to Regensburg to contest 176 games across seven fields for six different trophies. The schedule also incorporates an umpire clinic and a slowpitch convention for players and coaches, with free admission offered to all spectators on the grounds.
