Visually impaired athletes in Oristano will soon have the opportunity to pick up a bow and test their concentration, listening skills, and coordination during a dedicated morning of adaptive sports. Organizers scheduled the introductory archery event for Sunday, October 18, beginning at 9:30 a.m. local time, weather permitting.
Anpvi Aps Ets and Oltre gli ostacoli Lead the Initiative
The sports morning is organized by the provincial section of Anpvi Aps Ets in collaboration with Oltre gli ostacoli, a social policy association operating under the Cagliari committee of Uisp Aps. Local support for the gathering comes from Father King, parish priest of the Sacred Heart of Oristano, who granted access to the G. Frassinetti sports field located at Via Amsicora 120.
According to the organizing groups, the project aims to introduce participants to a discipline that remains largely unfamiliar to many individuals with visual impairments. Organizers emphasized that the session is designed to demonstrate how appropriate adaptations and proper support can make archery both accessible and engaging in a low-vision environment.

Archery session promotes socialization for visually impaired participants
The sports session is open to all individuals with visual impairments who want to try the discipline, regardless of prior experience with archery.
The program focuses on core elements of the sport that rely on senses other than sight, including auditory cues, spatial awareness, physical coordination, and trust in one’s personal capabilities. Both Anpvi Aps Ets and Oltre gli ostacoli stated that the gathering is intended to promote socialization and active participation, reinforcing the principle that sports should remain free of physical and logistical barriers.
