Anne de Vriesschool among top performers at Sliedrecht Volleyball

The Anne de Vriesschool secured the top performance at the annual Sliedrecht Sport School Volleyball Tournament, held on Friday at De Basis in Sliedrecht, where 140 children from groups 4 through 8 participated, hetkompassliedrecht.nl reported.

Tournament Structure and Group Play

Play began with the younger children in groups 4 and 5 before moving on to the matches for groups 6, 7, and 8. Teams played through a series of pool matches, which were followed directly by cross-finals to determine the final standings across all participating grade levels.

Resolving Group 6 Absences

Organizers faced some initial confusion and scheduling hurdles during the group 6 tournament when two expected teams failed to show up. The issue was resolved smoothly thanks to the flexibility of the remaining teams, coaches, and game supervisors who adapted the schedule on short notice.

Podium Finishes Across Divisions

Following the conclusion of the cross-finals, organizers and sponsors distributed medals and small gifts to every participating child courtesy of Hareco Hengelsport and Sliedrecht Sport. The top three teams in each age group were recorded as follows:

In Group 4, Anne de Vries Baanhoek 4-2 took first place, followed by Anne de Vries Baanhoek 4-1 in second and Henri Dunant 4b in third. Group 5 saw Roald Dahl 5-2 claim the top spot, with Anne de Vries Deltalaan 5a taking second and Anne de Vries Baanhoek 5 finishing third.
