All Blacks Defeat Australia to Retain Bledisloe Cup at Eden Park

New Zealand retained the Bledisloe Cup for a 23rd year on October 10, 2026, defeating Australia 50-19 at Eden Park. Damian McKenzie kicked 15 points, and the All Blacks ran in seven tries to extend their historic unbeaten run in Auckland to 54 Tests, dating back to 1994.

The All Blacks powered past the Wallabies to lock down the Bledisloe Cup once again, turning a tight half-time score into a resounding 50-19 victory.

Second-Half Surge Extends Eden Park Streak

Australia stayed competitive through the first 40 minutes, taking an early lead thanks to a try from full-back Tom Wright as the visitors controlled the opening exchanges. Wallabies captain Harry Wilson added another try before the interval to keep the hosts within arm’s reach.

But the second half belonged entirely to the All Blacks. Scrum-half Cam Roigard ignited the onslaught with a try shortly after the restart, backed by searching kicks that kept the Wallabies under constant pressure. Peter Lakai and Tupou Vaa’i had crossed in the first period, while Codie Taylor, Leroy Carter, Josh Moorby, and Will Jordan joined the scoresheet after the break to overwhelm the Australian defense.

Bledisloe Cup Streak and Match Statistics

Fly-half Damian McKenzie orchestrated the victory with 15 points from six conversions and a penalty. Josh Nasser managed a late try for Australia, but the match had long slipped out of the visitors’ reach.

The victory halted a three-match losing streak for New Zealand following their 3-1 series defeat against reigning world champions South Africa earlier in the summer. For Australia, the defeat marks their first loss since head coach Les Kiss took over from Joe Schmidt in July, snapping a six-game unbeaten run and leaving the Wallabies waiting for their first win at Eden Park since 1986.

The two-Test series concludes at Accor Stadium in Sydney on October 17, 2026.
