UP12 Junior Open Draws 110 Players to THC Hanau

The Tennis-Club Hanau hosted 110 boys and girls across the U12, U14, and U18 age groups for the fourth edition of the UP12 Junior Open at its Kurpark facility, according to tournament reports. Staged from September 25 to 27 under clear late-summer weather, the DTB Category J4 tournament drew young competitors from a radius exceeding 300 kilometers, including entries from regional tennis associations in Baden, Mittelrhein, and Bavaria.

All scheduled matches advanced without disruption from the opening rounds through to the finals. Tournament organizers noted that the competitive standard proved notably high, featuring multiple participants who rank inside the top 100 nationally within their respective age brackets.

Singles Champions Crowned Across Six Categories

Competition concluded with singles titles awarded across six divisions, highlighting victors from clubs throughout Germany. Laura Marie Klaas of Kölner KHT Schwarz-Weiß captured the girls’ U12 crown, while Timur Boydak of MTTC Iphitos München claimed the boys’ U12 trophy.

In the U14 brackets, Diana Trynchuk representing Höchster THC won the girls’ singles event, and Lukas Kaifeng Zhou of SC Frankfurt 1880 took home the boys’ title. The older U18 division saw Emilie Marie Wagner of TC Steinbach triumph in the girls’ draw, alongside Timo Jiang of TC Rot-Weiß Sprendlingen, who secured the boys’ U18 championship.

THC Hanau Juniors Compete as UP12 Sponsors Tournament

The tournament also drew significant interest from the host club’s membership. Seventeen junior players from THC Hanau entered the draws, with several gaining their initial tournament experience. Organizers reported positive feedback from these newcomers regarding their first competitive outings.

Financial backing for the event came from primary sponsor UP12 law firm, alongside corporate supporters including Lacolore, Sportkind, and Stadtwerke Hanau. Preparations are already underway for the fifth installment of the tournament, with the club confirming that the UP12 Junior Open will return in 2027.
