Shahinaz El-Hamamy, the supervisor of the women’s football sector at Zamalek SC, has publicly revealed that she received direct threats from a board member amid a growing financial dispute over unpaid wages within the club.

The controversy emerged following statements made by El-Hamamy during a television appearance, where she detailed friction surrounding financial dues and administrative pressure. According to El-Hamamy, arrears have piled up due to ongoing complications involving an external investor who was previously collaborating with the sector.
Barred From Grounds and Physical Threats
El-Hamamy stated that she was barred from entering Zamalek club grounds and missed a high-profile fixture, known as the summit match. She recounted a warning issued by a club board member, stating she was told she would be physically assaulted if she attempted to visit the premises.
“After the Zed match, I received a call from a Zamalek board member who told me not to go to the club until I brought the money, and instructed me not to communicate with the players or the coaching staff,” El-Hamamy said in her televised remarks.
Behind-the-Scenes Negotiations
El-Hamamy noted that a formal meeting was held, leading to an agreement to reschedule the overdue payments.
Mounting Public Scrutiny and Treasury Arrangements
The situation escalated further when El-Hamamy received a text message from a board member urging a swift resolution because public scrutiny had begun to mount. Following these communications, an arrangement was struck for half a million Egyptian pounds to be paid, with an additional half million pounds scheduled to enter the club’s treasury from remaining receivables.
