Wesley Vissers secured a top-four finish in the Classic Physique division at the 2026 Joe Weider’s Olympia Fitness & Performance Weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada, reaching a milestone he had pursued throughout seven appearances at the sport’s premier showcase.
How the Classic Physique Contest Unfolded in Las Vegas
The annual bodybuilding showcase returned to Las Vegas, Nevada, running from Sept. 24 through Sept. 27. Vissers, who has climbed steadily through the international bodybuilding ranks over recent seasons, found his name called among the top five competitors during the final lineup.
Niall Darwin, widely known in the sport as “Naz,” captured the Classic Physique title. Naz entered the weekend following a victory at the Pittsburgh Pro in May. The division also featured reigning champion Ramon Dino and Mike Sommerfeld, who placed second in 2025.

Despite missing out on the top step of the podium, Vissers expressed profound satisfaction with his fourth-place result. The Dutch competitor noted the significance of breaking into the elite group after years of chasing the finals stage.
“Ongelooflijk. De top 5 is mijn droom, ik heb het zo vaak gezegd. Ik ben hier voor de zevende keer, en steeds kon ik die finale niet doen,” Vissers said in an interview with Beyond the Stage TV, reflecting on reaching a goal he had targeted across seven years of competition.
The Weekend Ahead at the Olympia Weekend
Attention in Las Vegas now shifts toward the premier open bodybuilding competition, where the title of the world’s largest and best bodybuilder will be decided. The open division features competitors without weight restrictions, with contenders such as Nick Walker, defending champion Derek Lunsford, and 2024 champion Samson Dauda leading expectations ahead of the Sunday night finals.
