The continental governing body distributed a total of 31.5 million euros across 611 clubs in its initial payout round.

The financial distribution follows a fixed allocation key. Clubs receive 3,845 euros per player for every match in which that player appears on the official matchday squad sheet. For Leipzig, the contributions of 16 players to their respective international sides added up to the highest single total among all participating teams across Europe.
Broader Financial Scope of the EM 2028 Cycle
The current financial distribution forms a portion of a larger 244 million euro fund earmarked for the European Championship 2028 qualification and tournament cycle. Out of that overall pool, 104 million euros is designated specifically for player releases during the 2024/25 and 2026/27 Nations League seasons alongside the Euro 2028 qualifiers. An additional 140 million euros is reserved for clubs releasing players to final tournament squads.
