The women’s tennis team of Lengericher TC secured the Westphalian championship title following a series of decisive doubles victories at the regional tournament hosted by the Westfälischer Tennis-Verband in Kamen.
Late-Notice Call-Up Leads to Westphalian Crown
Captain Alexandra Kattmann’s squad claimed the regional crown after stepping in for the team from Hausdülmen, which could not attend the final round.
Unexpected Breakthrough at the WTV Facility
Lengericher TC entered the regional finals after finishing as runners-up in their district qualifying tournament. Following a narrow defeat to Hausdülmen at the district final in Roxel, the team initially considered their championship campaign concluded.
However, when Hausdülmen withdrew from the Westphalian finals at the WTV facility in Kamen, Lengericher TC received a late berth into the final four.
Clutch Doubles Performances Under Pressure
In the semifinal match against TV Blau-Weiß Ummeln, the teams split the opening singles matches for a 1-1 tie. Lengericher TC secured the decisive victory by taking the doubles match to advance to the title game.
The championship fixture against TuS Lipperreihe followed a similar script, requiring a clutch performance in the final doubles pairing to settle the contest.
Straight-Set Victory Seals Historic Milestone
Melisa Celikkin and Nina Lamprecht delivered the championship-winning performance for Lengericher TC in the final against TuS Lipperreihe, capturing the decisive doubles rubber in straight sets. The straight-set win sparked celebrations among the players and the traveling supporters who made the trip to Kamen.

The triumph marks a milestone for the club, which finished in second place three years prior before breaking through for the top regional honor. Team captain Alexandra Kattmann highlighted the collective effort of the roster after the tournament concluded.
