The Léopards traveled to Zimbabwe and collected their second victory, moving to six points from two matches at the top of the group standings.
Léopards Seize Group E Control
Yoane Wissa opened the scoring for the visitors in the 30th minute. Samuel Moutoussamy doubled the advantage in stoppage time at the end of the first half (45+2′). Zimbabwe responded late in the fixture through Marshal Munetsi, but the visitors held on to claim all three points.
Equatorial Guinea Breaks Through
In the group’s other fixture, Equatorial Guinea defeated Sierra Leone 1–0. The decisive blow came from an opening-minute goal by Lorenzo Zuniga. The result lifts Equatorial Guinea into third place in Group E behind Zimbabwe.
Burkina Faso Climbs Group F
Across Group F, Burkina Faso secured an away victory against the Central African Republic by a 1–0 scoreline. Aboubacar Camara scored the decisive goal at the hour mark to earn the visitors the victory.
The result leaves Burkina Faso at the summit of Group F with four points. They hold a one-point advantage over Mauritania, which has a fixture remaining against Benin. The Central African Republic sits at the foot of the group standings after suffering two defeats in as many matches.
