Cus Siena Judo Returns to Competition at Trofeo Italia Esordienti B in Borgo Valsugana
Athletes from Cus Siena Judo returned to official competition following the summer break, traveling to Borgo Valsugana in Trento to compete in the Trofeo Italia Esordienti B for the Under-15 age category. The weekend event featured young judokas Pietro Cosco, Alberto di Pisello, and Aurora Frau, all under the guidance of coach Giulio Muzzi at the local sports hall.
Men’s Division Matches in New Weight Classes
Competing in the men’s division, both Alberto di Pisello and Pietro Cosco faced tough challenges after stepping up into new weight classes for the tournament. Alberto di Pisello opened his campaign strongly by defeating his first-round opponent. His run ended in the second round following a three-minute golden score overtime period, where he was stopped by a referee decision.
Teammate Pietro Cosco experienced a more difficult start to his post-summer campaign. Competing below his usual standard, Cosco was defeated in his opening match. Despite the early exits for both athletes, Cus Siena Judo expressed confidence in their technical qualities and potential to bounce back in future fixtures.
Aurora Frau Earns Seventh Place and National Qualification
Aurora Frau delivered the standout performance for the delegation in the female categories. Frau fought through four successful bouts before meeting the top seed of her category, who ultimately claimed the silver medal. With four victories and a strong showing against the division’s elite, Frau secured a seventh-place finish.
The young competitors continue their training under coach Giulio Muzzi as they prepare for the next phase of the national youth judo calendar.
