Anna Boumbaly of Pradines Badminton secured a silver medal at the recent regional badminton tournament held in Puygouzon, Tarn. Competing in the minime girls’ doubles category alongside partner Maloé Blaise, Boumbaly’s performance marked a strong start to the season for the Lotois delegation, which saw five young athletes participate in the Occitanie regional competition.
Performance Highlights in Puygouzon
The tournament brought together top youth talent from across the Occitanie region, ranging from the poussin to cadet age groups. Anna Boumbaly stood out as the top performer from the Lot department, earning her silver medal in the DD minime division. Her teammate, Timéo Boumbaly, also represented Pradines Badminton in the poussin men’s singles, where he reached the quarterfinals and concluded the tournament in fifth place.
Other athletes from the department also demonstrated competitive form during the event. According to reports from the regional circuit, every player from the Lot contingent managed to win at least one match throughout their respective brackets. The remaining participants included Eden Poteau from Pradines Badminton in the DH minime category, Maëlia Bruneau representing Souillac Badminton in the DD cadette division, and Clément Andrieu of Pradines Badminton in the men’s benjamin singles.
Upcoming Regional and Departmental Schedule
The regional youth circuit is set to continue on the weekend of November 14 in Rabastens, Tarn, where the athletes will look to build on their early-season results. Before the next regional meeting, local focus shifts to the department level.
This Sunday, October 4, the city of Gramat is scheduled to host the first tournament of the Circuit Départemental Jeunes 46. Organizers anticipate approximately 100 players will compete in the departmental event, which features a full day of matches for the region’s young badminton players.
