MotoGP Brasil 2026: Schedule Set for Post-Eid Race

Jakarta – Following the drama of the Thailand Grand Prix, MotoGP fans will have to exercise a little patience. The competition resumes with the MotoGP Brasil 2026, scheduled to take place the weekend after Eid al-Fitr.

The second round of the 2026 MotoGP season in Brazil will run from March 20-23. This significant break from the season opener provides a crucial opportunity for reigning champion Marc Marquez to evaluate his less-than-satisfactory performance at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram two weeks ago.

Marquez failed to reach the podium in Thailand after receiving a penalty and struggling with tire issues. The incident resulted in a significant loss of points early in the season, leaving him in eighth place in the championship standings.

Preparing for the Return to Brazil

The break this weekend will be utilized by top teams to prepare for their journey to Latin America. Currently leading the championship standings, Pedro Acosta and Marco Bezzecchi will be looking to maintain their momentum. For fans in Indonesia, the Brazilian race will provide entertainment following the Eid celebrations.

Notably, this marks the return of MotoGP to Brazil after a three-decade absence. The last premier class race on Brazilian soil was held in 1992 at Interlagos. Due to time zone differences, the main race will take place on Monday, March 23rd, early in the morning WIB (Western Indonesian Time).
