Alcoy Firasport 2026: Sports Camp for Kids – Registration Opens March 23rd

ALCOY, Spain – Registration opens this Monday for Firasport, a program designed to provide children with a fun and active way to spend their April school break through sports. The initiative, organized by the Alcoy City Council through the Centre d’Esports, will take place at the Complex Esportiu Municipal Eduardo Latorre and is open to children born between 2013 and 2019.

Firasport aims to encourage physical activity and a healthy lifestyle among young people in Alcoy. The program will be divided into two sessions: April 7-8 and April 9-10, 2026. Activities will run from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM each day, offering a variety of sports including water games, swimming, racquet sports, traditional games, and judo, all led by qualified instructors.

Participation is limited to 100 children per session. Those attending will need to bring a swimsuit, swim cap, sportswear, and a towel. Organizers note that children can participate for two days or, if space allows, sign up for additional sessions. Participants will be asked to indicate their preferred session and any alternative dates during the online pre-registration process.

Pre-registration will be conducted exclusively online via the Alcoy Sports Department website (https://www.alcoi.org/es/areas/deportes/) starting at 9:30 AM local time (UTC+2) on Monday, March 23rd. The registration window will close on March 27th at 2:00 PM local time, or sooner if all available spots are filled. It’s important to note that pre-registration does not guarantee a place in the program. a separate registration process will be required for each child.

In the event of duplicate registrations, only the most recently submitted entry with accurate information will be considered. Provisional lists of accepted participants will be published on the Centre d’Esports and Alcoy City Council websites on March 31st at 2:00 PM local time, identified only by a unique identifier.

Alberto Belda, the Alcoy City Council’s Sports Councilor, emphasized the importance of the program. “With Firasport, we will ensure that the girls and boys of our city have an active and healthy leisure alternative during their holidays,” Belda said. “This activity demonstrates our government’s commitment to promoting sports habits from a young age, taking advantage of first-rate municipal facilities like the Complex Esportiu Municipal Eduardo Latorre and helping families balance work and family life during the non-school days of April.”

The Complex Esportiu Municipal Eduardo Latorre, the venue for Firasport, provides a modern and well-equipped environment for a range of sporting activities. The facility includes swimming pools, sports halls, and outdoor courts, making it an ideal location for a multi-sport program like this. For families unfamiliar with Alcoy, the city is located in the province of Alicante, in the Valencia region of Spain, known for its rich cultural heritage and attractive landscapes.

This program offers a valuable opportunity for children in Alcoy to stay active and engaged during the April school break. The combination of diverse sports activities and qualified instruction aims to foster a lifelong love of physical activity and promote a healthy lifestyle. Parents interested in enrolling their children are encouraged to visit the Alcoy Sports Department website promptly on Monday morning to secure a spot, as spaces are limited.

The next key date for parents to mark is March 31st, when the provisional participant lists will be published online.
