The EDI committee brings together former players, coaches and administrators who care about the future of women’s table tennis. Curious to get a glimpse of the committee’s thoughts? You might hear this:
- What if we could bring young players together to practice together?
- What if we allowed players to train while creating friendships?
- What if we involved players as practice partners during a camp?
- What if we combined a training camp and face-to-face coaching training?
- What if we joined forces with the Athletes’ Commission and the Coaches Committee?
- What if we had more coaches in our clubs?
- What if we supported the training of coaches in the four corners of the country?
- What if we could count on the support of a mentor like Ms. Mariann Domonkos?
- What if we brought together our mentee coaches with our mentor for a weekend?
- What if we presented topics related to girls’ training to all coaches in Canada?
- What if we highlighted the girls and women involved in table tennis?
- What if we promoted the initiatives put forward by Table Tennis Canada to support the practice of women’s table tennis among the Canadian sports community?
- What if we continuously supported coaches who wish to embark on this journey?
- What if we had more role models for our players, coaches, officials and administrators?
- What if we participated in the mentoring program of the Canadian Coaching Association (FEGC)
- What if we highlighted the successes of our female athletes?
- What if we talked more about women’s table tennis?
We dream in color? No way. Strong from the involvement of everyone. Thanks to the motivation to improve the situation and the hard work and contagious energy of volunteers to carry out the initiatives imagined. Here is a summary of the initiatives carried out this year:
As the year 2025 comes to an end, we thank all the participants, coaches, supporters and volunteers who contributed to our initiatives. And what does 2026 have in store for us? This year will be the year we collectively decide to make it. It will be the result of our decisions and the involvement of everyone.
