TV Blomberg: Badminton State League Victory

“TV Blomberg’s first badminton team had a successful weekend. We celebrated a deserved 5:3 home win against the guests BC Ajax Bielefeld 1.

We presented ourselves as strong as usual, especially in the men’s disciplines. David Klein and Stephan Drewes (21:13, 21:10) as well as Sascha Brüggemann and Julian Reker (21:19, 21:18) ensured a quick lead. In the singles, Klein and Brüggemann extended their lead with clear two-set victories. Since the women’s doubles went to the guests without a fight due to a lack of personnel, it was up to the mixed duo Stephan Drewes and Julia Berges to secure the overall victory. With a concentrated performance, they won their game safely and made the final score 5:3.

In the district class, our second team suffered a 2:6 defeat against TV 1875 Paderborn. The victories of Julius Hausmann and Andi Wiele in the second men’s doubles as well as Jaqueline Seifert and Anja Schwarze, who won their women’s doubles with 21:16 and 21:12, were pleasing. Karsten Ringelberg’s third men’s singles went unhappily: After winning the second set, he fought his way into extra time in the third set, but lost by a narrow margin of 20:22,” says the badminton department’s press release.
