Tereza Salte House: Reconstruction Update

Tereza Salte she is a successful entrepreneur, writer, influencer, mother of three boys and passionate athlete. And because, among other things, she has a knack for seeing projects through, she managed to finish after a few years reconstruction of the family house.

Reconstruction in two parts

Villa from 1997 with features entrepreneurial baroque Although Tereza Salte initially refused based on the photos, during a personal inspection her husband John Erik convinced her that she would be the right one for them. She was particularly enchanted by the place with a wonderful open view of the countryside. And so the house gradually gets a new face. Not only the interior reconstruction is now complete, but also the exterior improvements, such as new windows and balconies. We are the first part introduced five years agotoday you can take a peek at the upper floor.

The desire to nest

“I guess I have a strong desire to nest,” says the influencer with a smile. “Always when I’m pregnant, we renovate something. Before the birth of our third son, Damian, we tackled the upper floor, where we have our bedroom, nursery, guest room and two bathrooms. You spend a lot of time at home with a baby, so it’s only logical that you want everything new and clean there. The upper floor was still in its original state and not exactly tastefully decorated.” And he remembers, for example, the large golden bathtub in the bathroom.

Skeletons exposed

During the reconstruction of the floor, in the end the whole family had to move to a rented apartment for three months. The probes revealed quite a few skeletons: disintegrating partitions, missing ones vapor barriers and general insulation of the roof.

In the summer, the bedrooms were unbearably hot. “Air conditioning it was a necessity for us and we also replaced the air purifier we used for the sake of the children. We have had a Daikin heat pump for several years now and have had excellent experience with it, so we were clear about our choice.”

Upstairs they will use the air conditioner to heat the room, which is why they chose a very quiet place. And since the internal units are quite visible, they naturally also thought about the design. “And last but not least, we consider every investment in the house from the point of view of whether it will increase its value if we were to sell it one day,” calculates the reasons for purchasing an air conditioner, Tereza.

Equipment from own store

He designed the ground floor of the house years ago studio OOOOXon the new upper floor, individual contractors took care of the necessary construction modifications, and Tereza designed the interiors herself. John Erik comes from Norway and Tereza also lived in the north for several years, so scandinavian design is their great love. That’s why they also founded the Salted Home & Kids store, where they sell stylish Scandinavian pieces. And it was you who bought the house.

In addition to furniture, there are also interior decorations or even wallpapers. And of course light fixtureswhich they already solved in the first phase of the reconstruction. For example, the bedroom is dominated by the Artichoke chandelier from the Danish brand Louis Poulsen, which is a collector’s item and there are only three hundred of them in the world.

They are in all rooms to keep things tidy built-in wardrobes made to measure. “I like it when there is somewhere to hide things, and at the same time they are practically at hand. Overall, we try to have few things. Aesthetics are important to us, but actually more comfortable aesthetics and practicality,” adds Tereza Salte.

Is it done yet?

As is often the case with houses, it may never be finished. The roof is still waiting for its time and facade house, both are still original. And the question for the future is also the reconstruction of the indoor spa with a salt water pool. So far, the couple has not embarked on this, because they are not sure that such an expensive action would increase the value of the house accordingly.

“At the moment, however, selling the house is not on the agenda, the older sons have school and kindergarten in Prague. We want to support the boys in activities they enjoy. We live a lot in the present moment, we like to travel, we like to come home. We are happy here now,” concludes Tereza Salte.
