The NFL season once again had a rapid start and a season that lasted in the blink of an eye, first as a 17-game mixed season, then leaving the conference play-offs behind and reaching the Super Bowl. The regular season brought big surprises on the AFC side, with Kansas not being able to make the play-offs, Baltimore staying out, and Buffalo not being able to take advantage of the opportunity. While Denver, New England and Indianapolis were suddenly at the top of the conference, the Indianapolis Colts were left out of the play-offs due to injury problems. In the NFC, the last champion Philadelphia fell short of expectations and finished the easy group as the leader, while the NFC West witnessed the real struggle between Seattle, San Francisco and LA Rams. Chicago Bears also had a very good season after many years and finished the conference in 2nd place and entered the play-offs with an advantage.
We entered the play-offs with many championship candidates, and as a reflection of the competitive season, every match was competitive until the last moments. In the end, Denver, who went to the conference final with a backup quarterback after their quarterback was injured at the last minute while beating Buffalo in the AFC, lost 7-10 as there were no points in the second half of the match in heavy snowfall despite the field advantage. The NFC final was played between the Seattle SeaHawks, who will also be the favorites of the Super Bowl, and the Los Angeles Rams, who won against Chicago in overtime in the semi-finals, and in the match that witnessed many dramas, Seattle won 31-27 and became New England’s opponent.
The champion will be determined with the Super Bowl match in San Francisco on February 9.
