Stije Resink is well on his way to Benfica. Football International reports on Thursday based on insiders that the FC Groningen midfielder is very close to a personal agreement with the top club from Portugal.
Resink (22) is said to have had a video call with trainer José Mourinho on Sunday. The Dutchman had a good feeling about the conversation with the renowned trainer, after which the personal conditions were discussed.
VI reports from various sources that Resink can earn an annual salary of one and a half to two million euros at Benfica. Due to the good conversation with Mourinho, the winter transfer seems to have gained momentum.
Benfica has yet to submit an official opening bid to FC Groningen, although that seems to be only a matter of time. Resink can be acquired for six million euros in the summer due to a clause. If a current offer is at least ten million euros, it is quite possible that business is already being done.
