Is there a special transfer coming up at Schalke 04? Former Wolfsburg native Edin Džeko is said to be a candidate.

Schalke coach Miron Muslić reacted humorously to the question about a possible move for Edin Džeko and emphasized that he would not comment on transfer rumors. The 39-year-old AC Fiorentina striker had previously been mentioned as a candidate for a move to Schalke.

After second division leaders Schalke 04’s 0-0 draw at Hertha BSC, a reporter asked Muslić about Džeko. Muslić responded by saying: “I don’t comment on transfer rumors, dear Robin, even if you have packaged it very, very charmingly and are making a fuss here,” Muslić said after the game.

Muslić, who fled from Bosnia-Herzegovina to Austria as a child, has a good relationship with Džeko, who also comes from Bosnia-Herzegovina. In his question, the reporter had pointed out that Džeko had once given Muslić a shirt.

Sky had previously reported that Džeko could move from Fiorentina to Schalke. The striker played for VfL Wolfsburg from 2007 to 2010 and became German champion in 2009 and top scorer in the Bundesliga a year later.

Muslić emphasized: “I don’t comment on rumors. I haven’t done that in the last seven months. I won’t do that today either.”
