With four matches on the program the weekend was not very plentiful and yet there were some great performances.

Matches played on 01/21:

The fight for second place rages on and SBS Ostrava did not miss the opportunity to regain their possession during this late match. From the start of the match, the local players are diligent and determined. The duo Iva BELOSEVIC (14 points, 22 rating) – OLIANA Squires (17 points) is untenable and a first gap already exists after 10 minutes (25-12). Two matches on the program for Saturday 24, and the journey continues for USK Prague which once again annihilates its opponent of the day (+91). Already 30 points ahead after ten minutes (34-4), it was obvious that the afternoon would be long for the bottom of the standings. Emese HOF (17 points, 37 evaluation) reigned over the game, well supported by Pauline ASTIER (7 passes in 16 minutes). Janelle SALAUN scores 11 points in less than 15 minutes and Valérianne AYAYI (9 points in 18 minutes). The two teams do not play in the same category and the locals are ready to do battle in the Euroleague quickly, as confirmed Dušan Medvecký, fair play coach of Ostrava Basket : “We didn’t come to get a result, but to play to our full potential and get a score of 70. We didn’t achieve that, but at least all the players participated. USK is a Euroleague team and I wish them good luck for their match against Schia; I wish them victory and a great season. »

Zabiny Brno continue to cling to their dream of finishing second with an easy home victory against the penultimate side. The domination of the locals is total (57 shots to 30, 6 lost balls against 17 and a much higher shooting percentage) and at half-time the gap is crippling (53-19). Stephanie JONES (25 points, 37 rating) is easily helped by the 14 rebounds of Kenndy BROWN. The mano a mano continues with SBS Ostrava for second place.

For its part, BK Trutnov will win on the 5th field and show that the recent adjustments in its squad are bearing fruit. the start of the match is one-sided, the visitors are everywhere on the pitch and dominate the timid locals (17-26). Upset, Marie ZILOVA et Katerina Suchanova (12 points each) wake up their team and stay in the race at the break (37-43). But Meghan BOYD is definitely a great scorer (29 points) and she will drive home the point with every possibility of a comeback. Kiara BELL shows its power in the restrictive zone (16 points) and despite a return to 3 points from the locals, the visitors will pocket their third victory in 4 matches.

The podium is still far away but to hope to get closer, Kp Brno had no choice but to win at home. It’s done, against the 6th in the ranking. The start of the match is balanced, Lucie SVATONOVA et Jessica HIBALOVA (15 points each) allow the locals to take control of the match, but without creating a real gap (20-15, 10ᵉ). Monika FUCIKOVA is successful (18 points) but we feel that little by little the visitors are at the breaking point (-14 at the break).
