Palmeiras Injuries: Vitor Roque & Full-Back Update – Abel Ferreira

Palmeiras is already starting the season with important absences. After the 1-0 victory over Portuguesa, this Saturday (10), coach Abel Ferreira reported injuries to two athletes, one of whom was the team’s absolute starter.

According to the coach, Vitor Roque suffered a sprained ankle during training this week. The striker was not listed for his debut in the Campeonato Paulista, as were other starters, such as Gómez, Raphael Veiga and Piquerez.

The one who played against Lusa and is still out is Jefté. The left-back felt pain in his thigh in the final stretch of the first half, remained on the field, but was replaced at halftime. He will also undergo medical evaluations to identify the severity of the problem.

Flaco López, considered the team’s starter, was absent against Portuguesa due to flu, according to Abel Ferreira.

In addition to the two players, Alviverde still has five other names out of action at the beginning of the year. Paulinho, Felipe Anderson, Facundo Torres, Lucas Evangelista and Figueiredo remain under the care of the medical department. See the status of each of them here.

Palmeiras returns to the field next Wednesday (14), at 7:30 pm (Brasília time), when they host Santos, in the second round of Paulistão, at Arena Barueri.
