Olympic Hockey: Exclusive Interviews – Sweden

upload for the folk festival in italy

– During the Olympics in Cortina, there will be hockey frenzy in Sweden and we are very happy to be able to participate and offer the Swedish people unique extra material about the road to the Olympics and thus prepare for the folk festival in February, says Anna Johnson, president and CEO of Svenska Spel.

– We want to invite the Swedish people to join us on the journey towards the Olympics. We have a group of players who have dreamed a whole hockey life of playing in an Olympics. It’s been twelve years since NHL players were last there, and that’s why this will be extra special, says Tre Kronor men’s association captain Sam Hallam.

– The Olympics is the biggest thing that can be experienced for my players. We long for Italy and for a tournament that has all the conditions to become the stage for everything we love about ice hockey; tension, struggle, speed and intensity, says Tre Kronor women’s association captain Ulf Lundberg.

Svenska Spel, which is the main partner of both the Swedish Olympic Committee and the Swedish Ice Hockey Association, plays an important role in optimizing the conditions for the teams to succeed in Milan.

– Svenska Spel has helped SOK to support Tre Kronor ladies in their Olympic effort for several years and contributes all the way into the team’s final preparations at the pre-camp in Switzerland. At the same time, Tre Kronor men are given optimal opportunities to quickly adjust from everyday life in North America to Olympic hockey in Italy and get to participate in the world’s most prestigious hockey tournament, says SOK general secretary Åsa Edlund Jönsson.
