During his NHL career, Hall played 502 consecutive regular season games from 1955 to 1963, a goaltending record that is considered unsurpassed.
Along with Stanley Cup games, his record is 552 consecutive games. Alec Connell, the next closest, had 257 consecutive games between 1924 and 1930.
Nicknamed “Mr. Goalie”, Hall made his NHL debut in 1952/1953. in the season of 2008 in the ranks of Detroit “Red Wings”, but started to play fully in the league two seasons later. He ended his playing career after 1970/1971. seasons of the year.
Hall was one of the first goalkeepers to incorporate the “butterfly style” into his game.
Hall played a total of 906 games for the Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues, winning 407 games, 84 of which were shutouts.
Hall won the Stanley Cup once, helping the Blackhawks win the championship in 1961. He was recognized as the league’s best goalkeeper three times, once received the Conn Smythe Award as MVP of the Stanley Cup, and also participated in the “All Star” games seven times.
In 1975, Hall was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.
