Bad evening for French clubs in the Euroleague. AS Monaco Basket lost to Real Madrid (90-78). Paris Basketball did not worry Dubai (99-79).
Despite a good comeback, Monaco suffered a second defeat in a row in the Euroleague, Thursday on the floor of Real Madrid (90-78) after a failed first period during the 24th day, again fatal to Paris Basketball, heavily beaten at home by Dubai (99-79).
Beaten on Tuesday by Red Star Belgrade at home (100-96 AD) after seven successes in a row, ASM (15 wins for 9 losses) lost its third place, overtaken by its evening opponent.

The Monegasques took the lead from the start (23-9, 8th), particularly at long distance (5/6 at 3 pts, 6/10 at the break) and on the pick and rolls (play behind a screen) behind which Facundo Campazzo enjoyed himself (6 pts and 5 assists at half-time, 17 pts and 10 pd in the end).
Clumsy (12/34 shooting), they were at half-time (31-54) on the way to a rout similar to that of Monegasque footballers in the Champions League against Real on Tuesday (1-6).
However, there was improvement afterwards, notably more aggressiveness in defense, and the “Roca Team” gradually chipped away at its deficit, notably thanks to Nikola Mirotic (15 pts to 3/5 to 3 pts), and fell back below the 10 unit mark with just over five minutes remaining (66-75).
But they were ultimately too short, stunned in the last minutes in particular by the duo composed of Campazzo and Trey Lyles (20 pts and 7 rebounds).
Paris was trailing by the same proportions at half-time (32-52) but on the other hand never managed to worry Dubai, on a cloud from long distance (14/28).

Two days after being heavily dominated in Valencia (98-84), the Parisians suffered their heaviest defeat in the Euroleague at home and remain stuck at the bottom of the standings (7 wins for 16 losses).
Nadir Hifi once again lacked skill (10 pts to 1/8 to 2 pts) and will try, like his team, to get back on track against… Real Madrid at home.
