Spanish women’s football already has its next major destination marked in red. The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has officially confirmed that the Gran Canaria Stadium will be the venue for the grand final of the Copa de SM la Reina Iberdrola, which will take place on May 16, 2026.
This announcement is the result of a strategic agreement between the RFEF, the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, and the Inter-island Federation of Las Palmas, establishing the island as a top-level sports reference.
The choice of this venue is no coincidence, as the Gran Canaria Stadium boasts a modern infrastructure following its renovation in 2014. With a capacity for over 32,000 spectatorsthe Canary fortress is preparing to register a historic attendance.
The venue already has experience hosting international events for the Spanish national team, ensuring that the pitch conditions and services will be up to the standards of one of the most prestigious trophies on the national calendar.
