Dynamo Dresden: Aarau Test Match Win

In the morning the second division professionals went to the training ground for a relaxed activation. Football tennis courts and rondo forms were available for the players. After the lunch break, the focus shifted more and more towards the test game in the afternoon. At short notice, the game was moved forward half an hour and the venue was relocated to the sports community’s training ground.

In the first half, all four winter newcomers, Jonas Sterner, Jason Ceka, Robert Wagner and Thomas Keller, were in the starting line-up. Against the current second-placed team from the second Swiss league, the SGD had a difficult time in the early stages and was initially challenged on the defensive. As the playing time increased, Dynamo gained more control of the game. The reward came shortly before the break. After a nice pass from Jason Ceka into the interface, Vincent Vermeij stayed cool in front of the goal and sank the ball into the top left corner for a 1-0 half-time lead.

After the break, head coach Thomas Stamm completely rotated and sent eleven new players into the game. The Swiss also made generous substitutions at half-time.

In the second half, the black and yellow continued their attacking drive from the first half, but did not manage to add a second goal. In this phase, FC Aarau struck: After a mistake in building up the game, the Swiss quickly switched gears and brought the ball sharply into the center, where Daniel Afryie kept his foot in and marked the equalizer (63′). The goal gave the Eagles a boost. Nine minutes later the ball came into the penalty area again on the right side. Berdan Senyurt took the cross volley and sank the ball into the right corner, unstoppable for Daniel Mesenhöler (72′).

After that, however, the black and yellow recovered and, similar to the first round, the SGD regained more control of the game. Triggered by a pressing moment and a botched ball reception by the Aarau defender in the penalty area, Luca Herrmann intervened and put the ball with his heel across to Jakob Lemmer, who scored the equalizer (78th). Less than two minutes later, it was Herrmann himself who followed up on a shot from Faber and hammered the ball into the net to take the lead (80′).

The score remained at this level in the end, so that despite a performance that was not satisfactory in all areas, the first test match success was achieved. On Saturday the sports community will face Rot-Weiss Essen in the second game of the training camp. DynamoTV will also broadcast this game live.
