DIE ERSTE: Home Double Matchday – Badminton Bundesliga

After a short winter break, DIE ERSTE starts again this weekend – and twice: On Saturday at 5:30 p.m., 1. BC Beuel welcomes TV Witzhelden before the derby against TV Refrath 2 on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Two home games, two real highlights and the perfect opportunity to start the second half of the season with a tailwind.

“After the break, an exciting game against jokers – you definitely shouldn’t underestimate them,” says Hendrik Stagge. “Even if the position in the table might make it look different, we recently saw at the WDM O19 what the team’s players are capable of. We have to go into it with full focus – it’s a really good challenge.”

In the first half of the season, the Beuelers were able to defeat both opponents – that’s encouraging, but no reason for complacency. DIE ERSTE wants to confirm the positive impressions and build on the unified team performance of the last games. The club is currently in fourth place in the table with 17 points and is therefore in an excellent starting position for the second half of the season.

The highlight of the weekend is on Sunday: the derby against TV Refrath 2, which was already a thrilling showdown between two technically strong teams in the first half of the season. “A derby against Refrath is always something special. You know each other well, many of the players also know each other personally off the field. I’m hoping for a full hall, a good atmosphere and just a really great game,” says Hendrik, looking forward to the weekend.

This gives Beuel the opportunity to send a clear signal at the start of the second half of the season with two convincing performances: self-confident, focused and with real team spirit. Finally: DIE FIRST is ready for the second half of the season!
