After receiving a vote of confidence from the owner of the Colts, the team’s general manager, Chris Ballard, gave his vote of confidence in quarterback Daniel Jones.
Ballard firmly believes Jones is the right man to help the Colts end their five-year playoff drought.
“I see him as the present and the future of the team,” Ballard said during a season-ending news conference Thursday. I am very comfortable with Daniel. Even though he injured his Achilles tendon, I believe he has a bright future in Indianapolis. »
The Colts have been looking for stability at quarterback for several years, having started a different player in Week 1 in eight of the last nine seasons.
In his first season with the Colts, Jones helped his team get off to an impressive start to the season with eight wins in ten games. However, he tore his right Achilles tendon in December. The team subsequently concluded the season with seven straight defeats to miss the playoffs.
The former New York Giants quarterback will become a free agent in the spring.
