New head coach of Spartak Juan Carlos Carcedo recorded video message to the team’s fans, promising to make every effort for the success of the club. The appeal was published in the official telegram channel of the “red-whites”.
The video was recorded at the team’s home stadium. “Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. We are now in this beautiful stadium. We will do everything in our power. We want the club to be successful because you deserve it. We need you to be proud of the club,” Carcedo said.
Carcedo was presented as the new head coach of Spartak on January 5. The agreement runs until the summer of 2028. He replaced Serbian Dejan Stankovic in this post, with whom the club parted ways in November last year. In the remaining matches of the autumn part of the season, the team was led by Vadim Romanov (as acting).
Carcedo worked as Unai Emery’s assistant at Almeria, Valencia, Sevilla, PSG and Arsenal from 2006 to 2019. In 2012, he was on the coaching staff of Spartak.
As a head coach, Carcedo led Ibiza, Zaragoza, and, since 2023, the Cypriot Paphos, with whom he won the championship and the national Cup.
Spartak is in sixth place in the RPL standings, gaining 29 points after 18 rounds.
