Booker Leads Suns to 108-105 Win Over Thunder | Game Recap

The Phoenix Suns have won 6 of their last 7 games, but tonight’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder has a special flavor. A high-class victory, against the reigning champions, thanks to an exceptional shot for the win from Devin Booker.

What a crazy end to the match! Less than 40 seconds from the siren, Dillon Brooks donned his villain costume. With a magnificent step-back on the head of his compatriot, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the back of the Suns believed to definitely offer victory to his team. But the Thunder never die and came back to score through Chet Holmgren then Jalen Williams. Not enough since 8 seconds from time, the ball fell into the hands of Devin Booker and the magic spoke.

The franchise player was valuable at the end of the match, as was his sidekick, the bad guy with the braids – undoubtedly the best player in the fourth quarter on the field – but the one who dominated the match was… Jordan Goodwin. The playmaker is having a superb season, but last night, he broke all his records at the best of times. 26 points at 9/16 shooting and 8/13 from distance: he will remember it.

Jordan Goodwin, unlikely X factor in the Suns’ victory against the Thunder:

🔸26 points
🔸4 bounces
🔸9/16 shooting
🔸8/13 by far

Phoenix built its victory on defense and under the circle. They contained Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who, despite his 25 points, had one of the worst games of his season. They prevented good 3-point positions: result, 10/32 by far for the Thunder. And above all, they were exceptional in rebounds with 49 captured compared to 29 for Oklahoma City.

The Suns are riding exceptional momentum and are, more than ever, chasing a spot among the top six in the Western Conference. Six as the number of defeats for Mark Daigneault’s players this season. The Warriors’ record now seems out of reach…
