NewTuscia – VITERBO – Chiaroscuro results for the two main youth teams of the Ants Basketball, engaged in the last few days in their respective regional category championships.
The under 19 group, sponsored by Domus Mulieris and led on the bench by coach Carlo Scaramuccia, came close to an external blow against the very strong San Raffaele Roma, still unbeaten this season, in the match valid as the second round of the second phase; the final score was 57-56 for the Romans with the young yellow-blues chasing for almost the entire match and failing to take home the victory with the last possession.
After a first quarter favorable to the Romans (19-12), Domus Mulieris’ comeback began in the second half, driven above all by the baskets of Stanislavova and Imuentinyan and by a much more attentive and concentrated defense which left just 8 points to San Raffaele. Great balance in the third period, with Pirillo making an important contribution and Marigliano scoring with the -1 triple which gives those present a final period to enjoy. Domus Mulieris tries and is very close to achieving a very important success to achieve the best possible placement in this second phase. Next Monday coach Scaramuccia’s girls will return to the field, again away, against Stella Azzurra Roma who defeated Basket Roma in the last round. Two seasonal precedents, both favorable to the Viterbo team.
The Domus Mulieris scoreboard: Stanislavova 20, Imuentinyan 18, Pirillo 10, Gansou 3, Marigliano 3, Paco 2, Puggioni, Georgieva
Everything was easy, however, for the girls of the under 17 ItLogix team who defeated the Frecce Romane team at home 78-37; result never in question to the advantage of the group led by coaches Daniele Catalani and Stefano Paparozzi who, driven above all by Stanislavova and Georgieva, immediately extended their lead and closed the race without excessive difficulties. Next Sunday away against Montesacro Roma in the penultimate match of the qualifying phase.
