2025-26 Basketball: Round 16 vs. Shinagawa City – Game Recap

The away games against Shinagawa, which were held irregularly on Thursday and Friday, were Samurai’s first consecutive wins on the same card this season. In addition to struggling to get off to a good start in Game 1, there were some moments in Game 2 where we still had issues with our defensive defense, but we were able to show our ability to make adjustments and achieve consecutive wins.

Away games against Niigata and Tachikawa will continue from the next match onwards. Both teams had 1 win and 1 loss at home. Although we are a higher ranked opponent, we will step up even further so that we can repay the debt we lost at HOME.

⬛︎ Report:GAME1

Although they struggled to get off to a good start, they made adjustments along the way and created their ideal offense and defense. They calmly escaped their opponent’s pursuit in the final stages, ending their losing streak at 7 on the road.

【1Q】

The Samurais continued to make mistakes from the get-go, both offensively and defensively, including six turnovers. They suddenly gave up a double-digit lead, but gradually succeeded in regaining their lead thanks to goals from #14 Jaydee.

【2Q】

The Samurais entered the game with a good flow in the second half of the first quarter, but their defensive strength suddenly increased and they were unable to let their opponents develop their attacks. Continuing from the 1st quarter, the offense continued with #14 Jaydee’s inside play, as well as fast breaks and 3-point shots, with everyone scoring evenly and turning the game around.

【3Q】

The momentum remained the same in the second half, and even though his playing time was short, #39 Hamada led the team with solid defense, blocking the opponent’s ace. On offense, he is sure to score points with inside and free throws.

【4Q】

The Samurai’s would like to continue the good flow of the 3rd quarter, but their opponent’s 3-point shooting rate has started to increase and they are gradually narrowing the point difference. At one point, the lead narrowed to 7 points, but they maintained their composure and played a thorough defense, making sure to make free throws on offense as well, and the game ended well. The losing streak ended at 7.

⬛︎ Report: GAME2

Samurai’s completely dominated the start, unlike yesterday. After that, they had some trouble with the opponent’s 3-point shots and offensive rebounds, but they made corrections in a short time and won without a risk. This is the first consecutive win on the same card this season.

【1Q】

Samurais succeeded in taking the lead today from #14 Jady’s inside. However, the opponent’s 3-pointers, led by Shinagawa’s #13 Bagir, had a high probability of making, closing the gap and turning it into a cross game.

【2Q】

The Samurai’s had issues with their defense and were narrowed down to a one-point difference, but #16 Mitsuo and #18 Ichihashi made two 3-point shots each, and they held on without allowing a tie or a reversal.

【3Q】

Samurai’s struggled as their opponent grabbed offensive rebounds, but #31 Tomita scored points from two quick attacks including a basket count, and did not allow them to catch up. #15 KJ Allen made two 3-pointers in a difficult period and ended up taking the lead in the 3rd quarter.

【4Q】

The inside players held their bodies tight and did not allow easy rebounds in the 4th quarter, keeping the opponent to a low score. On the offensive side, #15 KJ Allen and #77 Matsuo, who came on as substitutes, steadily racked up points and won easily. It was the first time this season that they achieved consecutive wins on the same card on away soil.
