The María Auxiliadora-Salesianos school in Vigo hosted this past friday the 3×3 Solidarity Basketball Tournament, an initiative jointly organized by the Abertal Xuvenil Center and the Salesianos Vigo Basketball Club that combined sport, coexistence and social commitment.

The tournament featured participation of about 150 peopledistributed in two categories. In the children’s team, 13 teams competed, while in the youth team 16 participated, in a day marked by an atmosphere of high involvement on the part of players and the public.
Solidarity registration allowed us to raise more than 600 food packages, that will be donated to Operation Kilo, with the aim of support families in need during the Christmas holidays.
The organization highlighted the exemplary attitude of the participants and the collaboration between educational and sports entities in the city, highlighting the role of the sport as an educational and social tool.
The tournament is part of the programming of Another Movea project supported by the Provincial Council of Pontevedra that promotes open and participatory youth activitiesaimed at promoting values such as solidarityteamwork and social responsibility.
