Yesterday the 32nd Araucanía Binational Sports Games “La Pampa 2025” ended, which brought together the delegations of the six Patagonian provinces of Argentina and the seven southern regions of Chile.
RIO GRANDE.- As in Aysén 2024, the title was held by Río Negro, with 218 points: they were champions in both branches of basketball, and in cycling and men’s swimming; runners-up in soccer, judo and women’s volleyball, and third in men’s soccer).
With 210 units he was followed by the owner of the house (champion in both branches of soccer and volleyball; men’s judo and women’s swimming; second in men’s cycling; and third in women’s athletics), completing the podium with Los Lagos, who collected 171 points (finished in front in both branches of athletics, and in women’s cycling; he was 2nd in women’s swimming, and 3rd among men in that discipline).
The only title that “escaped” them was that of women’s judo, recovered by Tierra del Fuego, after having achieved it in Bariloche 2023. The Fuegian delegation came in tenth place, with 81 points (in Aysén 2024 they placed 12th, with 79).
Men’s judo also stood out (3rd), and to a lesser extent men’s athletics (7th), with two golds for thrower Jonatan Allende (shot and discus), a silver for Nicolás Ravassa (javelin) and a bronze for Ian Bianchi (high).
In addition, women’s athletics (with Antonella Ojeda’s gold in long, and bronze in shot), both branches of cycling (with Tiziana Pastori remaining in the leading pack in the closing event) and women’s swimming (where Milagros Verón obtained bronze in 50 meters breaststroke) were tenth, and men’s swimming did not add points.
In teams, Tierra del Fuego men’s basketball ranked 9th; 10th is men’s volleyball; 11th women’s soccer and volleyball; 12th men’s soccer; and 13th is women’s basketball.
