The 6th day of the Champions League saw Inter beaten at home. A 1-0 defeat inflicted by Liverpool which caused the Milanese to slip to 5th place.
Alessandro Bastoni really didn’t help his team. In the 85th minute, the Italian defender found nothing better than to pull Wirtz’s jersey into the area. The referee went to watch the VAR and decided to logically whistle a penalty which Yann Sommer was unable to stop. The former Swiss team goalkeeper certainly started on the right side, but the Hungarian Szoboszlai used too much power.
After a draw in Bruges and a defeat against Chelsea, Barça managed to win 2-1 against Eintracht Frankfurt. The Catalans conceded the first goal in the 21st minute through Knauff, but they were able to react in a few minutes (50th and 53rd) via Jules Koundé, the unexpected hero of this meeting.
Denis Zakaria misses a penalty
Monaco won 1-0 against Galatasaray. The Monegasques scored the only goal of the match in the 68th minute through Balogun. But the Principality players could have taken cover before, only Geneva’s Denis Zakaria missed his penalty in the 51st.
Atalanta had an excellent operation by dominating Chelsea in Italy 2-1. The Transalpines move up to provisional 3rd place. Victory also for Atletico Madrid 3-2 in Eindhoven against PSV. Same score for Marseille in Belgium against L’Union Saint-Gilloise. Tottenham dismissed Slavia Prague 3-0.
