Monaco beat Bayern Munich (103-77), after two defeats in a row, on Friday in the Euroleague. The “Roca Team” was nine points behind after five minutes (2-11), until the awakening embodied by its duo of dynamiting backs Elie Okobo and Mike James.

The two friends together scored 32 points, to propel their team to great success. NBA center Nikola Mirotic added 16 points in 18 minutes.

This success was essential for the Monegasques who remained on two consecutive losses, especially since they were spoiled by the calendar during the Holidays, with Real Madrid on December 26, then FC Barcelona on the 30th.

Fournier, 8 points in the first quarter

For Asvel, the mission seemed impossible for a title contender. French international Evan Fournier scored 8 points in the first quarter allowing Olympiakos to widen an early gap (26-14) which was never contested again.

The former Magic and Knicks shooter finished with 21 points. His compatriot Frank Ntilikina added 11 points. On the Asvel side, the American Shaquille Harrison finished top scorer with 11 units.

Tony Parker’s club, victorious over Bayern on Wednesday, ends the calendar year with two matches against poorly ranked Efes Istanbul and Paris, penultimate. The Villeurbannais, for their part, have the worst record on the board (4 wins-13 losses).
