This goal started from Yakuba Minteh’s attempt to throw the ball from Brighton’s defense area. The ball was then headed by Joe Gomez and fell to Ekitike, who beat Bart Verbruggen with a kick from inside the penalty box.

Brighton tried to respond. Minteh stabbed into the Liverpool penalty box from the right side and fired a shot, but it went wide of the goal.

The visitors got another chance through Diego Gomez. However, Alisson quickly closed the shooting space and blocked Diego Gomez’s shot.

Liverpool had to make substitutions in the 26th minute following an injury suffered by Joe Gomez. Mohamed Salah was then introduced and greeted enthusiastically by the Anfield public.

Since entering, Salah has been involved in Liverpool attacks several times. His collaboration with Florian Wirtz produced a chance for Ekitike, but his shot was not on target.
