$3M+ NBA Card: Record-Breaking Sale

The NBA trading card market continues to bustle at auctions, and on Friday, a dual Logoman 1-of-1 card of Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan, from the 2003 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection, sold for $3,172,000. That’s 2,708,000 euros!

Rated 6 by PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator), this card is numbered 1-of-1, which simply means it is unique. According to Card Ladderthis is the 7th most expensive basketball card sale in history, as well as the second highest sale for a Kobe Bryant card and the third highest sale for a Michael Jordan card.

This card dates from the inaugural year of dual Logoman, but unlike some later versions, it is not signed by Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan. This explains why it did not approach the absolute record held by the dual Logoman Bryant/Jordan 2007-08, signed by the two legends and sold $12.932 million in August ! It is to this day the most expensive sports card ever sold.
