Cincinnati Bengals fans are buzzing with anticipation as star quarterback Joe Burrow nears a potential return to the field. After a full week of practice, Burrow could be under center for Sunday’s matchup against the New England Patriots. to be eligible, the Bengals must activate Burrow to their active roster by 4 p.m. Saturday.
The 28-year-old signal-caller has been sidelined since Week 2 with a torn ligament in his left toe, an injury that required surgery. In his absence, the Bengals have relied on Jake Browning adn Joe Flacco. Despite a strong 2-0 start to the season, Cincinnati has struggled without Burrow, losing seven of their last eight games and currently sitting at a 3-7 record, making a playoff push a long shot.
Detroit Lions Tight End Sam LaPorta’s Season in Jeopardy
The outlook is less optimistic for Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta, who underwent back surgery. Head coach Dan Campbell indicated that LaPorta has a “slim chance” of returning this season. Placed on injured reserve on November 15, the earliest LaPorta could be activated is December 14. Tho, Campbell’s recent comments suggest he will likely miss the remainder of the regular season. A potential return in 2026 remains a possibility if the Lions secure a playoff berth.
The 24-year-old LaPorta has been a significant contributor for the Lions this season, amassing 489 receiving yards and scoring three touchdowns.
