[Sports Center/Comprehensive Report]Former Seltic chief Al Horford signed a two-year $5.7 million contract with the Warriors, and today he officially became the latest player in the Warriors’ new season. He admitted at a press conference today that this offseason is really strange, but I’m glad that everything has ended. He is now a member of the Warriors.
Harvard, 39, left Seltic, who has played for seven seasons in the last nine seasons. This decision is difficult for him because he won his first championship in 18 years in 2024. However, when Harvard was thinking about the future in the offseason, two things were certain for him. One is that he will not retire, and he knew that joining the Warriors would be the most obvious choice if he had to leave Seltic.
“It’s a great opportunity to have the opportunity to compete here and win at a high level. When I think of the Warriors, I think of Steph, Draymond, Steve Kerr, and Jimmy Butler is here. I think of his performance after the trade in the second half of the season, and their current style of playing.”
Harvard admitted that leaving the Celtics was a difficult decision for him: “But if there is a place to choose from after leaving, it is here, and it really happened. The Warriors gave me this opportunity, so I’ll seize it right away.”
Seltic encountered huge changes this year, including the main player Jayson Tatum’s right foot Achilles’ tendon torn in the playoffs. The team immediately chose to enter the reconstruction period and traded two major players Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis, so Harvard’s departure may become a reality.

Head coach Cole praised his new combat power: “His arrival is huge, not only allows us to get a Space Five, he is not just a Space Five, he is Harvard. His rebounding, defense, basketball IQ, passes, just seeing him today, you can know how well he fits this team and how smoothly it is. He can play with Green, or match with Trayce (Davis)… He can also play as a center position by himself, and we can play a 5-out formation. So Harvard’s versatility allows him to integrate into any lineup, allowing him to become a very valuable player now.”
Since Harvard is 39 years old, considering his physical consumption and age, the team strictly controlled his appearance time during the Celtics and did not allow him to play in “back-to-back” games. However, today Harvard and Cole did not give a positive response to this issue, only mentioning that the medical team will be responsible for coordinating with Harvard.
Speaking of the offseason this year, Harvard said it was strange, but glad that everything was over. He is now a member of the Warriors: “It’s definitely a very strange offseason, just waiting and observing what’s going on. So I can only focus on my training and prepare myself to make sure I can stay in my best shape before the season starts.”
