Cleveland vs Splendora Football: Harassment Allegations

A mother in the Houston area says that her 14 -year -old daughter was harassed during the football match between Cleveland and Splendora. The mother states that an adult coach verbally insulted her daughter and used soccer players to intimidate her.

The mother told KPRC 2 that she tried to file a complaint at the stadium, but a formal report was denied. He points out that he could only talk to the director of Athletics, who, according to her, minimized the incident.

“She was threatened and embarrassed in front of everyone,” said the mother. “When I tried to report it, they didn’t even give me a document to fill.”

KPRC 2 asked for answers to the school districts of Cleveland ISD and Splendora ISD.

Cleveland ISD confirmed that he was aware of the complaint and ensures that he acted immediately. In a statement, Dr. Tonya Clark, Executive Director of Communications, said that the district requires employees to comply with the Code of Ethics of Texas educators and with professionalism standards.

“An investigation into the reported incident was completed, and measures were implemented for all involved,” says the statement. “Although the District does not disseminate specific disciplinary measures, it is sure that appropriate actions were taken according to district policy. The security and well -being of our students are always our highest priority.”

Splendora isd response

Splendora ISD also confirmed that he is aware of the incident. District officials indicated that there were personnel present when they occurred and that they received complaints.

In a written statement, Deitra Johnson, director of Communications, said: “Our Campus and District staff has been in direct communication with students and families involved to ensure that they feel supported, and we have also offered additional support on the campus.”

The district added that, although the incident occurred at the Cleveland Isd stadium, Splendora ISD is working with Cleveland ISD to ensure “an appropriate resolution is achieved.”

Splendora ISD also stressed that there are already security protocols for students participating in sporting events, including administrative supervision, presence of personnel with student groups and clear expectations of behavior.

Ongoing concerns

The mother states that it is still frustrated with the way the situation was handled. “I feel they wanted this to disappear in silence,” he said. “I want responsibility.”

The family expects changes so that students participating in teams and presentations are better protected in future matches.
