Auria Badminton: Fuerteventura Season Kick-Off

The Auria Bádminton Club successfully opened the season at the weekend and took part in Fuerteventura at the TOP TTR Las Playitas. Eight members of the club competed in the categories U13, U17 and adults. David Rodríguez secured second place in the U13 category, while the team won three bronze medals in doubles. The delegation consisted of Isaac Rincón, Álvaro Guadalupe, David Rodríguez, Nerea Padrón, Patricia Vargas, Zhi Tao Li, Alejandro Rijo and Oliver Gausmann, accompanied by coach Jorge Oliverio Pérez.

David Rodríguez achieved the best result in the individual of the U13 category. In the group phase he defeated Diego Ramírez and Airam David Steux before struck in the quarter -finals Álvaro Acosta. After a difficult semi -finals against Felipe Pérez, he reached the final, but lost Aarón Mayor and won silver.

Successes at Fuerteventura for Auria Bádminton Club

In the U13 double, Álvaro Guadalupe and Isaac Rincón bronze, after defeating Lionel Escudero and Diego Ramírez, but lost to Eduardo Jesús González and Francisco José González. Alejandro Rijo won two bronze medals in the adult double: one with Zhi Tao Li and one in mixed with Claudia Haugaard after defeating Samuel Mayor and Oriana Sosa, but lost to Lot Socas and Carmen Delia Alonso.
